  5. HP's new Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 is a software product which allows the
  6. font scaling technology of the LaserJet III/IIID to be fully utilized in
  7. Microsoft Windows 3.0.  Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 provides high quality
  8. screen fonts by replacing the jagged Windows 3.0 screen fonts with
  9. Intellifont hinted screen fonts.

  11. Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 is a combination screen/printer driver that is
  12. optimized for printing in Windows 3.0 in standard or enhanced mode to a
  13. LJIII or IIID printer.  The driver generates on-the-fly screen fonts in
  14. Windows to match the CompuGraphic scalable typefaces resident in the LJIII
  15. printer family offering true WYSIWYG.  Simply select the font size you want
  16. from within your application, and the driver will give you any size screen
  17. font that Windows supports, instantly.

  19. Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 provides:

  22.   - On-the-fly screen font generation in the styles and sizes you want from

  30.  - HP LaserJet III or IIID printer
  31.  - IBM PC/AT compatible (286 and above) running DOS 3.1 or higher
  32.  - High density floppy drive (5.25" or 3.5")
  33.  - Minimum 1 MB of extended memory, 2 MB is recommended
  34.  - Minimum 2 MB hard disk space
  35.  - Windows 3.0 running in Standard or Enhanced mode -- Real mode is not

  39. Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 Components
  40.  
  41.  - CG Times and Univers screen typefaces to match the scalable typefaces in
  42.    the LJIII/IIID printers.
  43.  - Intellifont Screen Font Generator which automatically creates scalable
  44.    screen fonts on-the-fly for enhanced performance.  Hard disk space is
  45.    saved since bitmapped screen fonts are not required.
  46.  - New HP designed Font Installer for installing scalable typefaces and
  47.    bitmapped fonts.
  48.  - New Help files provide on-line help procedures for installing accessory
  49.    typefaces and font products.
  50.  - User's Manual on disk in MS Write format.  The manual takes you through
  51.    a variety of topics including installation, adding fonts,
  52.    troubleshooting, and software application notes.

  58. The Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 program consists of the following files:

  63.       IFW3.ZIP   - Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 Part 3

  65. Before you download, please see the System Requirements section above. Note
  66. that each of the above files runs from 270 to 355 KB and that you must
  67. download all four files (a total of 1225 KB) before installing Intellifont-
  68. for-Windows 3.0.  UNZIP the files with PKUNZIP v1.1 and see the README.1ST
  69. file in IFW1.ZIP for installation instructions.

  72. the program, free of charge, from HP's driver distribution group by calling

  75. Note that the updated (version 3.7) Windows 3.0 LJIII/IIID printer driver
  76. in L3WIN3.ZIP can be downloaded and installed by itself if your
  77. configuration does not meet the system requirements listed above. If you
  78. just install the driver you will benefit from the enhancements in the
  79. updated driver, but you will not get the scalable screen fonts that
  80. Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 provides.  For more information on features
  81. incorporated in the updated driver, download the driver and see the README
  82. file.
